Venice Beach

It isn't often that I get a night away. Kids free. To hang with old friends. Which is why this past weekend felt like such a treat. A brief visit with a dear friend, who recently relocated from Laguna to Venice Beach while finishing up her studies at UCLA. All and all a nice break amidst an otherwise very hectic holiday weekend. Cool weather, salmon salads, uninterrupted conversation, beer, books, and the downtown bars that always feel more appealing the further from home you are. I'm hoping our next date isn't too far off -  that I get a chance to share some shots of Christina's new, incredible apartment as it comes together, and hopefully take advantage of some of those unique thrift stores and corner side art galleries we passed just as the sun was sinking over the ocean on our way to dinner. And maybe, possibly, even head over to the ritzy restaurant where she moonlights as a waitress to catch a glimpse of some of those handsome actors hanging around her tables on a daily basis. Because, hey, it's Venice. And anyone who knows me knows that I am not above a healthy dose of celebrity gawking.

Until next time, friend.
